Convergence Renovations

Convergence Renovations

As you are likely aware, our beautiful city has been undergoing some renovations lately.  This entire month long, buildings have moved, new buildings have been erected and the general feel and spans of Convergence has changed.  Here are some visual aids to enhance your learning about what is different.  This is not exhaustive, and likely our December and probably even January Editions will have even more pictures and snippets about further changes.

As you can see from the following candid snapshots, the park has been completely redone.  The Park has a lovely flow, ambiance and many new flowers, along with a center fountain for citizens to enjoy.

As if to have sprung up over-night, Convergence now has an antiques shop.  The Chronicle was not able to find out who owns it just yet, but we were able to take a few snapshots of the old and somewhat creepy things that lurk just inside.

Once upon a time, Convergence had an Observatory and it appears as if it shall have one yet again.  This one is absolutely lovely and clearly has many wondrous things hidden inside for all you Astronomy lovers.

As you can see from the following snapshot, the local church has not only moved, but the exterior has definitely changed.  We did not get a chance to look inside, as it was clearly during the evening hours when we took some of these shots and no one was around to say hello, sadly.

Convergence Cemetery has moved across town and beside it has emerged a lovely new Funeral Home, complete with hearse.  Again, it was late when we took these photos, so no one was around to answer any questions, but from what we were able to see, this looks like it shall be a wonderful place to say goodbye to loved ones.

The Convergence sweets shop has moved, gotten a new look, AND a new name.  At its new location, under new management, it is now 'The Sugar Cube.'  Be sure to stop in for all your sugary fix needs.

While the Silk District does not look all that different, it has moved clear across town.  Look for the signs marked 'Silk RD.'  It is as much the 'city within the city' that it always was and is still there to suit all your tea, sushi, bath, massage, and dozens of other needs.  Though there are rumors that even the Silk could be expanding.  What else might they be building over there to please the public?

Ramen Stand!  Who doesn't love an old-fashioned Ramen Stand?  We at the Convergence Chronicle have no idea who owns this, but we can honestly say that it is absolutely wonderful.  The food is great, the service is excellent and we shall be eating there often.  On the corner of Church and Hollows, go get your ramen on.

With a bigger city comes a greater need for transportation.  Be looking around for these amazing rent-able bikes!  There are stands now peppering the city, and for a small fee, you can bike your way around.  (A certain someone in this picture was a bit upset at not being able to ride a bike in a kimono.)

Convergence now has a lovely City Square.  The Park is nestled in front of the Nexus and in front of the Park sets a square with the fountain which used to be in front of the Nexus.  This square makes it easy to identify such popular places as the Lovecraft Bistro and the Art Gallery.  It is all now conveniently located.  And with benches surrounding this amazingly crafted fountain, birds to feed, and an overall 'homey' feel, people can sit about, chat, and otherwise enjoy their coffee, art, and their day with one another in style.

Overall, the Convergence Chronicle has to 'hats off' to ADA, the City Works and anyone else currently working to improve, enhance, and beautify our already wonderful city.  As is plain to see just by this small collection of photos - things are really shaping up.  This is merely a fraction of the new spaces coming available.  We will continue in the next few months to bring you more featured spaces, hopefully including the hottest places to live, more spaces to dine, and this rumored 'skate park' that young people are buzzing about.
