Interview With ADA

AUGUST SPOTLIGHT
ADA Tells All

Or Just Answers A Few Questions

The Convergence Chronicle interviewed our own ADA for this month's edition.  We at the Convergence Chronicle were super excited that the City's Central Intelligence could join us, and would first of all like to thank ADA so much for agreeing to answer a few questions for our readers. We at the Convergence Chronicle realize that it takes a lot of effort in order to keep our city up and running smoothly, and truly appreciate the energy that was shifted our way in order to answer our queries.

We tried to keep the interview short, and informed ADA that if at any time she did not like a question or could not answer for one reason or another; she was free to skip it.

"ADA You have been serving as Convergence's Central Security and Intelligence for quite a while. What is your first memory or experience that you recall in your data banks from being part of Convergence?"  ADA's response began, "We recall an initialization sequence within the Steamworks building. Upgrades were being performed. However, we are aware that there was an 85% wipe of our data banks approximately 250 years before the Great Blink. Much of the data from before that time has been archived in the vaults or remains time locked."  Taking this into account, we realized just how truly old Convergence must be and how long ADA has been performing her duties!

The next question we asked was, "There have been a lot of battles since Convergence came and settled upon Earth. Based on your calculations, what battle has caused the most damage, taking into account loss of life, damage to the dome, walls and property damage?"  ADA predicts that, "Our estimate may be off. However, we believe the invasion of the Elementals was the most damaging to the city's infrastructure due to the flood and later attacks. This is followed closely by the war of the Celestials."  She went on to state that the reason for her estimation being possibly incorrect, is that she can only make statements by what is reported to her or what is observed in the city.  If something occurs outside the city, or reports are off she may be incorrect, but she is pretty sure that the Invasion of the Elementals was the worst, and we're apt to agree.

After this we decided to get down to some deeper and grittier topics, by asking about the Dark, and if there were any precautions the average reader could take to help safeguard against this looming threat.  At this point, ADA is looking toward Light Magic, like some other of our readers are, and stated that during any invasions by Dark Creatures that humans should make their way toward the Windmills in a calm and orderly fashion.

Talking about the Dark is a super serious topic, so we quickly shifted gears as not to stay on a down note.  We asked ADA if she had any hobbies, or leisure activities that she enjoyed just for herself.  However, as one might expect, ADA is a dedicated AI.  She replied, "All CPU cycles are dedicated to the continued function of the city of Convergence."

We wanted ADA to be able to connect with the Citizens of Convergence.  She works hard to make sure that the city runs smoothly.  On any given day, we have the dome, electricity, heat, and net, because she is functioning properly.  She is not just working hard for robots, but everyone.  Thus, we asked ADA, "If there was a single message you would like this city to know came from you in regard to everything that has happened, or will happen in the future, what would that be?"

ADA simply replied, "Please consent to donate your organs to the Nexus when your life functions cease."  You heard it at the Convergence Chronicle first.  ADA wants us all to become organ donors.

The last question we asked ADA was about emojis.  We wanted to end on something lighthearted and fun.  There is a rumor circulating that ADA dislikes emojis and what better way to end an interview, by asking about this rumor?  "We have no opinion about the use of 'emojis'. We often run statistics on the types of emojis being sent through ADANet at any given time to be able to gauge the emotional spectrum of the city. Today, the prominent emoji is 'afraid.'"  While this was not precisely the reaction we were expecting, it was definitely eye-opening.

We at the Convergence Chronicle want to again thank ADA for joining us.  We hope to have more interviews with prominent figures of the city coming up in futures months.
